About Oahu Bible Institute (OBI)

OBI is an international training program for Church Leaders

  • Training Pastors and Church Leaders for Ministry

  • A local center for the Gateway Seminary ADVANCE Program

  • Classes are offered at a post-high school level in a variety of languages to prepare effective Christian Leaders for contextualized Gospel Ministry.

The Oahu Bible Institute (OBI) is a ministry of the Oahu Baptist Network (OBN) in partnership with Gateway Seminary to provide Biblically based and culturally relevant training in developing effective leadership to build God’s Kingdom.

Admission Policies

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have been a Christian for at least one year and complete the following:

  • Online New Student Application Form

  • Online Church Endorsement form

  • Pay a $30 application fee to OBI

  • Submit the Ethical Conduct Standard form to OBI

Upon acceptance into the Advance Program the student will receive an official acceptance letter from Gateway Seminary and a student ID# for identification and library privileges.

Dr. Adam Groza is the President of Gateway Seminary. Prior to becoming president, he served the seminary for 14 years as Vice President of Enrollment and Student Services and Professor of Philosophy of Religion. He is a seminary leader, professor, author, and ordained minister with a passion for equipping future ministry leaders.

He is the author of Faith Wins: Overcoming a Crisis of Belief and co-author of Unraveling Philosophy. Dr. Groza has also served as a pastor in California and Texas. He and his wife, Holly Groza, have four children and enjoy hiking, going to the beach, and attending concerts together.
